Mt Hawthorn Hub commissioned me to facilitate a workshop with young people to design an artwork reflecting their suburb. I asked participants what they liked about Mt Hawthorn and their responses were expressed through torn coloured paper shapes, representing words and feelings. I then selected sections of each of the designs to create one artwork, which I transferred to a massive 13m piece of canvas. This was painted by the community at the Mt Hawthorn Festival and displayed at The Mezz.
