Collie Health Service Project

This project for the Department of Finance, Collie Health Service Upgrade last year proved somewhat challenging, but we got there in the end and the artwork is lovely! Fitting for the hospital which serves as a place for well being, healing and care.

The challenge was to design artwork which was low maintenance, not too intrusive of the space being a main corridor, robust enough to withstand hospital beds and wheelchairs, easy to clean, and designed around several sets of doors – all within a relatively modest budget.

Identical light boxes 7.6m long encapsulate an illustration which is illuminated with a unique lighting program. This creates an animated interactive effect replicating the gentle ebb and flow of water.

Flux
‘The artwork investigates the connection between local Collie water bodies and the therapeutic benefits of water, which can assist in nourishing the mind, body, and soul. The intent is for users to experience a nurturing, restorative journey which replicates the meditative buoyancy of floating in gently undulating water.’
