I’ve been engaged to deliver ARTscape 2025 at QEII Medical Centre

ARTscape 2025 invites the QEIIMC community – including patients, visitors, and staff – to contribute to a unique public art experience. This initiative will transform the Physiotherapy Garden at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital into a calming Zen Space that celebrates creativity, cultural heritage, and inclusivity.

ARTscape is designed to celebrate the diversity of the QEIIMC campus community, with submissions welcomed by the wider community.

The sample designs by Sioux and Maddi are just to get you started – feel free to use whatever style and design you like (keeping in mind we will be replicating them with hand painting).

Selected designs will be painted onto rocks and cemented into the Zen Space garden bed during harmony week 17-21 March 2025, creating a shared legacy on campus. Designs must be submitted by 17 February 2025. More info here including how to submit your design.

Where will it be?

ARTscape will transform the Physiotherapy Garden at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital into a calming Zen Space that celebrates creativity, cultural heritage, and inclusivity.

This new Zen Space will serve as a place for relaxation, reflection, and cultural connection. It will be open to all members of the QEIIMC community, showcasing the artwork that represents and honours the diverse backgrounds of everyone involved.

Selected designs will be transformed into permanent installation, creating a shared legacy on campus. The image shows hows the rocks will be cemented into a permanent public artwork in the garden bed!

How will it work?

During Harmony Week 17 – 21 March, I’ll be on site with some talented emerging WA artists and we’ll be hand painting the selected designs onto rocks. Hope to see you in the Physiotherapy Garden to watch the installation process!

Sample artworks by Sioux and Maddi_B_Artworks  show the creativity and cultural diversity that ARTscape aims to capture. Let these inspire your own design, reflecting personal stories, heritage, or symbols that hold meaning to you.
